Hello SCOM friends!
Silect is organizing another MP University event on Wednesday 27 October from 8AM to 1 PM ET. So a 5 hours event with several high profile speakers from the SCOM world! This event the focus is on management pack authoring. The speakers who are announced so far are: The Kevin Holman, A speaker from the SCOM product team, SCOM-Bob Cornelissen and Mike Sargent!
The more specific agenda will be posted on the Silect page linked above very soon.
In my session I will be discussing how I built a proof of concept for monitoring a device which can be reached only through a web-based API. I will show you the process I followed and some thoughts around it, so you can do this too! And meanwhile, since it is part of my home automation, we can play with the options.
Title = Monitoring web-based API’s in SCOM – POC Ninja Style
Description = Sometimes we want to monitor a device without an agent or SNMP with SCOM. In this session we show a POC for monitoring a Philips Hue Bridge with connected devices through a web-based API and the management pack creation around it.
Presenter = Bob Cornelissen, MVP, Technical Director at TopQore
Some of you will have noticed that I have been playing with a management pack for monitoring my Philips Hue Bridge, and now I can take a few minutes to show you what has been done so far 🙂
The other sessions at the MP University are going to be a blast as always and will be fun to watch!
Come and see us there!
