One of the technologies I have liked and advocated for a few years now is SCDPM. After moving to DPM 2007 we had very nice possibilities to backup Microsoft Server based environments. Of course we did run into some issues along the way, but in general it was a very nice product. However during time Microsoft came up with some new products that needed protection and of course customers and consultants came up with requests for lots of additional features/possibilities/products etc. It is very good to see that the DPM team has taken a good number of these into account and worked very hard in coming to this public beta release of DPM 2010 or DPMv3.
The DPM team made a post on the DPM blog site and named a number of added and improved features.
Also you can find information on the Microsoft DPM page.
There will also be a webcast announcing DPM 2010 and let them show you a walk-through of the new and improved features.
The beta can be downloaded from the connect site and includes documentation.
Congratulations to the DPM team for this milestone and let’s try the possibilities. And please do give feedback to these guys as it helps them move forward in creating great products!
